Have you ever used a Mac? If you haven't, take a look around here: Mac Tour

• Here's the basic setup for a Mac....On Windows, you have a Start Menu, with Control Panels - On a Mac (in the upper left) you have the Apple Menu....same thing, but Control Panels are now called "System Preferences"....
• How Do I get on the 'Net? Mouse down to the bottom, the "Dock" will pop up, look for this icon: external image SafariLogo.png Apple's browser is called "Safari"

• Some more looks at the Mac OS Interface (FYI, we are using Mac OS X (that's Ten, not "X"), version 10.6.4 aka "Snow Leopard."

Classic Mac Questions:
1. Where's "My Computer"? Upper left, now it's named "Macintosh HD", same thing though

2. How do I right click? Hold down control, while clicking (you can also use ANY three button mouse
Another way? Set up your trackpad (in System Prefs, Apple menu) for a two finger click.

3. Where are my programs??? Click on "Macintosh HD"....see Applications? That's it. It's called a synonym.

4. Cool new stuff for PC folks:

a. Screen shot parts of the screen! Hold down Command+Shift+4, you'll get a crosshair, draw a square
around something and wham! It's a screenshot. It'll be on your desktop, labelled something like:
Screen shot 2009-09-14 at 10.40.12 AM

b. Video screen recording and more! Open Quicktime in Applications, Click on New Screen Recording - coolness.

c. How do I burn a disk? Make a new folder (control click), when a CD is in...it'll say burn, that's all.

d. How do I open PDFs? Just click, they'll open. How do I make PDFs, hit print and pick "Save as PDF"

e. How do I eject, CDs, DVDs, Flash Drives, etc? Right click and hit eject, drag them down to the trash, or hit the eject icon.
